Unemployment Rate for 25–54-years-old
Quebec ranked 7th out of 12 jurisdictions in the latest common year data in 2022. The unemployment rate has been relatively volatile from 1976 to 2022 for all jurisdictions. They have experienced a downward trend in the unemployment rate since 2010, a phenomenon that may be linked to the economic recovery following the Great Recession of 2008. However, a new upsurge in the unemployment rate is observed in 2020, which can be attributed to the initial lockdown resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Quebec finds itself in the middle of the pack at the end of the study period.
