Household Debt as a Share of Disposable Income
In 2021, Quebec ranked 7th out of 11 jurisdictions based on the latest common year of data. Household indebtedness as a proportion of disposable income has exhibited varying trends across the studied jurisdictions. Specifically, Quebec, the United Kingdom, and the United States have shown a downward trend throughout the entire period. On the other hand, Ontario, Canada, France, Japan, and Finland have experienced upward trends. Finally, Germany, Italy, and New Zealand have maintained a stable trend during this period. Quebec thus falls within the average range of household indebtedness across the available jurisdictions.
